Samuel Lance
Hey everyone! My name is Sam Lance, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Kansas Journalism School. Currently I work for Adam Zagoria over at ZAGSBLOG.com and also run The Hum: A KU Hoops Podcast via the Field of 68. I'm excited to be starting on The Daily this year! Especially with me being an absolute basketball junkie. Some of my other past experiences include covering Kansas for 247Sports and as Sports Editor for the University Daily Kansan. I'm excited for what the future may hold.
The future is bright
More college hoops stars stole the show Wednesday at the FIBA U19 World Cup beyond Team USA -- including a Cleveland State prospect. Plus: Iowa State adds yet another 2026 commit, Utah inks a JUCO big man, the new transfer window waiver, and an interview with Ryan Odom.

NBA Draft news & best available
What should you know from Wednesday's first round and who are the best players out there for the second round? We've got you. Plus: Kansas bolsters its frontcourt, VCU adds another Top 100 prospect, the college hoops season expands, and the WAC finds a way to survive.

NBA Draft withdraw winners & losers
Auburn, Kentucky, Alabama and Oregon all got great news when it came to the NBA Draft. In fact, it was a rare year when the college game got what it needed. Plus: Gonzaga adds a former POY, the ACC's schedule matchups are out, and much more from a packed news day.

Houston sticks with the plan
Kelvin Sampson signs 4-year contract extension, meaning he'll coach the Cougars well into his 70s. Plus: Miss State benefits from an NBA Draft decision, K-State and Texas A&M add portal players, a massive day of college hoops materializes next season, and much more.

Florida's repeat chances boosted
Rueben Chinyelu announced he'll play for Gators next season, while it looks like they'll also add Boogie Fland. And if Alex Condon withdraws from the NBA Draft? That's a dynamite starting five. Plus: UConn, Vandy get good draft news, Louisville, Oklahoma State add international prospects, Georgia Tech lands a transfer and much more.

Duke's ready for more
A talented roster and a schedule that'll test it? Seems like a winning combo for Jon Scheyer's program. Plus: Oregon adds a frontcourt starter, a busy day in high school recruiting, the ACC announces a schedule adjustment and Kentucky-Louisville becomes a November showdown.

Alabama's tactical transfer moves
Nate Oats hasn't landed a big-name portal player yet. Instead, the Tide have four players in hand while they await NBA Draft decisions. Plus: St. John's added a 5-star freshman, Tennessee and Arizona added international prospects, Will Wade calls up fans, and we dive into the 2025 prospect who flipped commitments.

Almost closing time
As the transfer portal deadline draws near, plenty of new entrants have put in their names. Including those who don't even have eligibility. Plus: St. John's gets its point guard (kinda?), Kentucky adds a national champion, and Cooper Flagg makes his NBA decision official.
