Samuel Lance
Hey everyone! My name is Sam Lance, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Kansas Journalism School. Currently I work for Adam Zagoria over at ZAGSBLOG.com and also run The Hum: A KU Hoops Podcast via the Field of 68. I'm excited to be starting on The Daily this year! Especially with me being an absolute basketball junkie. Some of my other past experiences include covering Kansas for 247Sports and as Sports Editor for the University Daily Kansan. I'm excited for what the future may hold.
Duke's ready for more
A talented roster and a schedule that'll test it? Seems like a winning combo for Jon Scheyer's program. Plus: Oregon adds a frontcourt starter, a busy day in high school recruiting, the ACC announces a schedule adjustment and Kentucky-Louisville becomes a November showdown.

Alabama's tactical transfer moves
Nate Oats hasn't landed a big-name portal player yet. Instead, the Tide have four players in hand while they await NBA Draft decisions. Plus: St. John's added a 5-star freshman, Tennessee and Arizona added international prospects, Will Wade calls up fans, and we dive into the 2025 prospect who flipped commitments.

Almost closing time
As the transfer portal deadline draws near, plenty of new entrants have put in their names. Including those who don't even have eligibility. Plus: St. John's gets its point guard (kinda?), Kentucky adds a national champion, and Cooper Flagg makes his NBA decision official.

Texas Tech's BIG win
JT Toppin will return to Lubbock next season, giving the Red Raiders a NPOY candidate for their 2025-26 foundation. Plus: Arizona adds an impact freshman, UNC adds a sharpshooter from the portal, Samford, Cleveland State hire new coaches and there's a new No. 1 recruit for 2025.

Coaching (and portal) Buzz
Maryland moved quickly to fill its coaching vacancy, leaving Texas A&M to search for its next coach. Plus: Louisville's building quite the backcourt for 2025-26, Michigan State lost a vibes star, notes from the McDonald's All-American game, and a thrilling NIT semifinals.

(N.C.) State of mind
Will Wade's coaching McNeese in the NCAA Tournament today against Clemson. But he didn't attempt to hide that he's accepted the coaching job at NC State. Plus: Xavier fins a First Four thriller, Round of 64 games you shouldn't miss, the seven impact players for the Big Dance, and all the transfer portal activity from Wednesday.

Florida's push to the top
Gators earn yet another Top 10 road victory, this time at Alabama. They'll have a strong case for a No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday. Also: Maryland surprises Michigan, a couple of bubble teams got key wins, and more conference tournament results and previews. Plus, Duke's top assistant will leave before the end of the season.
