1. Keyshawn Hall exploring college return

Earlier this month, a preliminary injunction in Ohio paved the way for several players out of the class of 2022 to be eligible for a fifth year of college basketball.

One of the biggest names to benefit? 

Former Auburn wing Keyshawn Hall, who is now exploring multiple college options, per report.

Hall, the 6-7 forward, averaged 19.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the Tigers last season while shooting 45% from the field and 38% from 3.  He instantly becomes one of the best available players. That is, to any program that still has money lying around this late in the offseason. 

So far, former Utah State guard MJ Collins is a notable player from the injunction to commit to a program, choosing Cincinnati. Xavier forward Filip Borovicanin also recommitted to the Musketeers. We’ll see if Hall and more start to follow. 

In light of the news, the NCAA released a statement.

“We are encouraged by the Division I membership's broad support of the age-based eligibility rules,” the statement said. “The design of the new rules, including its implementation strategy, was thoughtful and well informed, and was unanimously supported by the Cabinet, including its student-athlete members.

“The Board has no plans to modify their application, notwithstanding a series of lawsuits recently filed on behalf of student-athletes with no remaining eligibility. We look forward to ensuring that the age-based eligibility rules are enforced consistently so that all institutions play by the same rules, like all participants in sports.”

This is likely just the beginning of the roster building craziness set to happen if all of these fifth year players are able to play next season.
