1. Four-star wing Carson Crawford chooses Arizona State
It was Randy Bennett’s first summer on the recruiting trail as Arizona State’s head coach, and he’s now landed a notable prospect to kick off his 2027 recruiting class.
The Sun Devils received a commitment from four-star wing Carson Crawford on Wednesday.
Crawford was part of the Florida Rebels team that won 17u Nike EYBL Peach Jam this summer. He averaged 8.6 ppg and 7.8 rpg and is known for his motor.
“He's an unbelievable kid and teammate,” Rebels coach Steven Reece told The Field of 68. “He's a team-first guy. He's versatile. He can guard multiple positions and is willing to do whatever it takes to win. He was one of our main guys. We were a completely different team with him on the court. He was kind of like the heartbeat of us.
"I think he's going to be an elite 3,” Reece added. “Every team he's been on has won, and I think he's going to make an immediate impact at Arizona State."
While Crawford showed he can impact winning as a role player, he can also do it as the star. During his junior season at Fleming Island (FL), Crawford averaged 17.2 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 2.5 stls while leading his squad to the FHSAA 5A state title game for the first time in school history. He’s hoping to bring his winning ways to Tempe.

2027 CG Kellen Brewer, the son of former NBA vet Corey Brewer, picked UCSB.
2027 PG NJ Gray chose Loyola Chicago.
2027 PG Brendan Walsh committed to Lamar.
San Diego State signed Nigerian forward Samson Mashebinu.
2. Roddy Gayle granted TRO + more eligibility news
One day after five-star freshman Brandon McCoy Jr. was lost for the 2026-27 season, Michigan has more clarity on a potential replacement.
