1. Updated way-too-early preseason top 25

Months away from the start of the season, no doubt remains about which team will be the preseason No. 1. That's the Florida Gators. The rest of the top-25? Totally up for grabs.

Milan Momcilovic choosing Kentucky gave Rob Dauster a real shake-up in his top-25.

Here's some notes on the updated top-25:

  • Illinois jumped a few spots to No. 5 after returning Andrej Stojakovic. The Illini return four of their top seven scorers from last year's Final Four team. (Stojakovic, David Mirkovic, Tomislav Ivisic, Zvonimir Ivisic)

  • Tennessee went from 17 to 11. Rick Barnes added some DUDES in the portal (Terrence Hill, Jalen Haralson, Dai Dai Ames, Tyler Lundblade, Juke Harris, Braeden Lue, Christian Fermin, Miles Rubin).

  • St John's jumped from 19 to 12 after the shocking addition of Tounde Yessoufou. The portal additions of Yessoufou and Donnie Freeman, paired with a class of international pros, will give the Johnnies a chance to win the Big East once again.

  • Kentucky needed another impact player, and Momcilovic provided that. He lifts the Wildcats from unranked to 17th.

  • Vanderbilt went from unranked to 19th after getting Tyler Tanner back.

  • The Big Ten has the most firepower with three teams in the top-10 (Michigan, Illinois, Michigan State).

  • The SEC has six teams in the top-25 (Florida, Texas, Kentucky, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Arkansas).

  • Retention is a common theme across teams in the top 10 with schools like Florida, Michigan, UConn, Duke, Illinois, Michigan State, Arizona and Virginia all returning key players.

2. Arkansas, Arizona agree to series + more schedule news

One of the best parts of this time of the year is finding out what non-conference games we’ll be circling next season, and any time we get news of two top-25 teams matching up, it's something to look forward to.

On Tuesday, we got exactly that.
