Where are the best available players in the transfer portal considering? Plus: Texas Tech lands CAA POY, Boston College has a BIG day, Cayden Boozer heading back to Duke and much more.
Good morning! You made it to Friday.
In partnership with D1.relocation

1. Texas Tech lands CAA POY + more commits
Texas Tech had one of the country’s best guards in sophomore Christian Anderson, who led the team with 18.5 ppg and 7.4 apg. With him off to the NBA as a projected first-round draft pick, the Red Raiders needed a new lead guard.
They got one of the best available playmakers in Hofstra transfer Cruz Davis.
Davis was a late portal entrant, coming off a career-high 20.1 ppg and 4.7 apg campaign. The 6-3 junior earned CAA Player of the Year honors and had five games of at least 30 points this past year, including 36 in a road upset win at Pittsburgh.
Will he be able to score and defend at the Big 12 level? As Jeff Goodman reported, one CAA coach noted Davis is “an electric scorer off the bounce and catch. He is extremely fast with the ball in his hands,” but wonders if the Big 12’s physicality will wear him down.
That’s what the Red Raiders will be banking on, with Davis and top-50 incoming freshman Dakari Spear as the lone perimeter players (thus far) on the roster for 2026-27.
