Three massive NBA Draft decisions
Lendeborg, Uzan and Condon all withdraw from the draft, placing Michigan, Houston and Florida all in Top 10 status for next season. Also, more NBA Draft news, Texas A&M adds a scorer, Baylor lands a 2026 prospect, and Vanderbilt's primed for more success.
Good morning! We’re getting to that point of the spring where rosters are mostly in place. Especially after lots of NBA Draft news happened on Tuesday.

1. Michigan officially has a fearsome frontcourt
Exhale, Michigan fans. Your new version Danny Wolf will be on campus next season.
Yaxel Lendeborg, who committed to Michigan over a month ago, announced Tuesday that he’ll withdraw from the NBA Draft and will play at Michigan next season. Lendeborg was a possible first-round pick, but did not get a guarantee. So he went with the guaranteed NIL Money instead. And he’ll be worth it.
The 6-9 forward averaged 17.7 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 4.2 apg, and 1.8 bpg, earned All-AAC first-team honors for the second-straight season and was AAC DPOY.
Michigan lost three starters: Wolf went pro, Vlad Goldin exhausted his eligibility and Tre Donaldson transferred to Miami. Expect Lendeborg to mirror the Wolf role from last year, and maybe do even better. The biggest difference is that Lendeborg is a career 77% free-throw shooter on 397 attempts. Wolf shot just 59% this season, so expect Lendeborg to take more shots.
The Wolverines also have 7-3 behemoth, Aday Mara (6.4 ppg, 4 rpg in just 13 mpg), and Illinois transfer Morez Johnson, who averaged 7 ppg and 6.7 rpg. Those three will make a fearsome frontcourt and almost certainly a preseason Top 10 team.
Shooting will be the concern. Replacing Donaldson with a shaky shooter in Elliot Cadeau, who went 29-for-86 (33%) from deep at UNC seems dicey. Returning starter Roddy Gayle shot 23% from deep, while returning guard Nimari Burnett went 65-for-166 (40%) from deep. Perhaps 5-star freshman Trey McKenney can help, as he shot 36% in EYBL action. Lendeborg shot 35.7% from deep, but only on two attempts a game.
If Gayle starts over Burnett, there’s a real chance none of Michigan’s lineup averaged one made 3 per game last season. That’s not ideal.
2. Houston, Florida cement spots as top 5 teams
Get ready for lots of arguments about the preseason No. 1 team. Including two that just played for the title.
