1. Heels go international, while N.C. State adds a Heel
Here’s a move that North Carolina (and its fans) might not have expected, but should be essential for success next season.
NEWS: Montenegrin wing Luka Bogavac has committed to North Carolina, agent Misko Raznatovic told ESPN.
Bogavac was a top-5 scorer in the Adriatic League, averaging 14.9 points per game, shooting 40% for 3. Turns 22 in September.
Significant addition for Hubert Davis in the ACC

Sure, it seems like every school is adding an international player or two this spring. But Bogavac is 21-years-old, is 6-5, and should be a starter be a starter alongside Kyan Evans, Seth Trimble, Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar. That’s a notable talent addition with summer right around the corner.
It’s an experienced group with decent size at every position, and some solid depth at guard and on the wings. They could probably use one more big man behind Veesaar, Wilson and Alabama transfer Jarin Stevenson, but this was a group with enough talent to land in Torvik’s Top 20. (And that ranking doesn’t even include Bogavac.)
Speaking of North Carolina big men, Ven-Allen Lubin says he’ll play in the ACC again next season. At N.C. State.
Did he tell people he intended to return to UNC? He did.
Is it far more interesting that he’ll be down the road in Raleigh, probably starting for Will Wade? Is it. And man, is that good for college hoops.
Duke was already a lock as a preseason Top 10 team. UNC is creeping up on that territory. And now that the Wolfpack added a 6-8 forward who’s been productive at Vandy and UNC, it raises their floor to a Top 40 team (37, if we stick with Torvik) thanks to their experience and depth. Lubin is a sold, serviceable player who’ll pair well with Jerry Deng and incoming 6-11 international player Paul Mbiya.
The Triangle games are going to be so much fun.
2. Stanford snags frontcourt depth + more international news
North Carolina wasn’t the only ACC that added an international player in the last few days.
