Setting up Selection Sunday
Teams celebrated titles on Saturday and some bubbles burst. But mostly, everyone's waiting for the NCAA Tournament bracket to be announced this evening. Let's dive in.
Welcome to The Field of 68 Premium, exclusive content for paid subscribers. We'll dive into Saturday's results, provide insight into the league champs, preview the NCAA Tournament selection show, and set up what else is coming on Sunday. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.
And thanks for subscribing!
1. Selection Sunday is here
It's that rare day during the college basketball season where the most exciting thing happens off the court. The NCAA Tournament field will be unveiled at 6 pm ET on CBS (stream here). No more projections. No more bubbles. Just a big, beautiful 68-team bracket.
What's it gonna look like? Who are the No. 1 seeds? How many bubble teams sneak in? Will the matchups make sense? We'll finally have answers.
And The Field of 68 will be there all night, breaking everything down. Our live show will start at 5:30 pm and run until Midnight, meaning no topic will be left untouched. (Stream info is here)
In case you can't tune in for all 6 and a half hours (we get it, people have lives), here's the rundown for who'll be talking when:
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm: Greg Waddell hosts, with our bracketology experts discussing what the seeding committee will do.
6:30-8: Rob Dauster, Terrence Oglesby and Randolph Childress will discuss the tourney reveal as it happens.
8-9: John Fanta, Matt McMall and John Henson break down the bracket.
9-10: Jeff Goodman, LaVall Jordan, Tyler Hansbrough and Doug Gottlieb discuss hits and misses.
10-11: The Three-Man Weave crew -- Jim Root, Ky McKeon and Matt Cox -- will discuss the field, including some early betting thoughts.
11-Midnight: Greg Waddell, Carter Elliott and Kevin Sweeney bring it all home. (And probably bemoan what's ahead for the Big Ten).
Also, Rob would be mad if I didn't promote The Field of 68's bracket challenge one more time before it all starts. There's $$$ there to be won.
Now, let's dive into what happened on Saturday.
