1. Oziyah Sellers to SMU + more fifth-year happenings

Fresh off an NCAA Tournament bid, Andy Enfield added a late (potential) reinforcement to try to make it back-to-back tourney bids.

The Mustangs brought in St. John's transfer Oziyah Sellers, who averaged 10.3 ppg and shot 35.7% from 3 last season. Sellers is known for his shooting and showcased it by drilling 42% of his shots from 3 at Stanford in 2024-25.

He fills a clear void for this SMU squad. It had only two experienced guards on the roster: Tulane transfer Rowan Brumbaugh and North Texas transfer David Terrell Jr. Brumbaugh should be the alpha scorer for this group, and Terrell could be one of the top defenders in the ACC. However, both are more on-ball players than Sellers, who can be a threat off the ball.

In other fifth-year news, Seton Hall forward Elijah Fisher will return to the program. Fisher was a solid rotational option for the Pirates, averaging 6.6 ppg and 2.9 rpg. He could see some extra minutes if Nathan Mariano, who comes over from the G League, can't get cleared. Fisher also adds a more offense-centric approach than Seton Hall's other forwards. The "centers" on the roster, Devin Williams and Abdulai Fanta Kabba, can dominate on the defensive end, while Fisher can contribute on both ends at the four.

Lastly, it might be a new era for Troy basketball under Adam Howard, but they'll still be a factor in the Sun Belt. The newest Trojan is Donovan Oday, a 6-2 guard who averaged 18.2 ppg at Northern Kentucky and notched All-Horizon team honors.

Oday could be the top-scoring option for Troy from day one. He'll join a backcourt with Jacoi Hutchinson (Longwood) and Robert Davis (Old Dominion).

The upside for this Trojans team could hinge upon the development of forwards Sam Walters (SMU) and Mobi Ikegwuruka (Kansas State). Walters has played at three different high-major schools, but has a 6-9 athletic frame and can drill 3s. Meanwhile, Ikegwuruka, who stands 6-6, 215, gives Howard a versatile defensive chess piece to work with. Both played smaller roles at HM schools, but could be massive pieces in the Sun Belt.

In other news: The Ohio court of appeals denied an emergency motion to vacate the stay. Players such as Filip Borovicinan (Xavier), Javon Bennett (Gonzaga), Malik Messina-Moore (Illinois State), Josh Reed (Penn St.), MJ Collins and Kolby King (Cincinnati), among others, will still have an appeal hearing next week.

2. Indiana lands international big man

Indiana made a splash in the international recruiting world.

The Hoosiers landed 2027 German 7-1 big man Felix Kiehlneker, who chose the Hoosiers over UConn, UCLA, Clemson, Florida, and others.
