1. College basketball loses a legend
One of the most respected figures in college basketball, longtime Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein, passed away on Thursday. He was 66.
Klein spent nearly four decades leading Louisville’s athletic communications department before retiring in 2022, then reuniting with Rick Pitino at St. John’s as a special advisor.
The CoSIDA and Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame inductee was regarded as one of the best sports information directors in the country and coordinated statistics for 40 Final Fours.
But most of all, he was known as a great person.
“Kenny Klein is the most selfless person I've met in my lifetime,” Rick Pitino said. “His humility and talents were attributes I admired so much. My heart breaks with the loss of such a great friend and person.”
Klein is survived by his wife, Donna, two sons and two grandchildren. Our prayers are with his family.
2. SEC opponents announced, more schedule news
For the past two seasons, the SEC has been the best league in the country per Kenpom and had insane depth throughout the conference.
