Providence's nightmare night

Bryce Hopkins appears to seriously injure his knee in home loss to Seton Hall. Plus, Miami runs away from Clemson, bad night for home teams in the A-10, and we talk to James Madison coach Mark Byington.

Good morning. Did you miss an eventful night in hoops? No worries. We got you.

1. Friars lose a game, and Bryce Hopkins

Providence doesn’t lose at home. Over the last three seasons, it’s 46-4 at the Dunk AMP, one of the sport’s elite homecourt advantages.

But that’s only part of why Wednesday’s 61-57 loss to Seton Hall was so stunning. The No. 23 Friars (11-3, 2-1 in Big East) led just once over the final 28 minutes and rarely looked comfortable in a place where it’s always right at home.

And that was before forward Bryce Hopkins — their second-leading scorer (15.5 ppg) and top rebounder (8.6 rpg) — left with an injury.
