1. UConn loaded up its non-conference slate

The Jimmy V Classic schedule became official on Wednesday: BYU vs Clemson for the first game, followed by Florida vs UConn. That’s a delightful doubleheader for Dec. 9.

Can we take a minute to marvel at Connecticut’s non-conference games? Dan Hurley may be done with MTEs, but that hardly means the Huskies won’t challenge themselves before Big East play.

I mean, look at these games:

That's six games all against likely NCAA Tournament teams. Sure, only one of them is out of the Northeast, but give him props for the foes.

BYU will enter the season as a top-10 team with 5-star phenom AJ Dybantsa. Arizona, Illinois and Kansas will all be Top 25 teams this season. Then the Huskies have the reigning national champions. Finish it off with Texas and UConn will have tested its defense in a big way.

Even if the Huskies don’t win all the games, they’ll be tested entering Big East play. That’s a smart move.

2. USC didn’t wait long to get another guard + more transfer moves

One move led to two moves.
