No. 1 2027 prospect Beckham Black sets first two visits, breaks down recruitment

As the little brother of an NBA player, there’s always been a target on Beckham Black’s back and expectations for him to be one of the nation’s top players.

All he’s done is live up to the hype.

So far this summer, the five-star point guard and No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 class has led AB Elite to one of the EYBL’s best records, and he’s currently one win away from making the Peach Jam final bracket. Through four Peach Jam games, Black is averaging 25.5 points, 5.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds.

“At the end of the day he puts in the work,” AB Elite head coach James Staff said. “I've had a lot of really good players man, and I'll tell you, he's ultra talented, but he puts in the work. I think what everyone's seeing is all the work he puts in... I'm a little biased, but I think that No. 1 ranking is well deserved. Because he carries us. He does everything we need him to do."

Black also helped Team USA to a U17 FIBA World Cup gold medal earlier this summer and was named to the All-Star five team from the event.

“It's definitely been a positive summer for myself, but also for the people around me -- my family, my friends, my coaches, my teammates,” Black said. “I wouldn't be in the position I am today without any of them, any of that support. So I just thank them dearly."

As far as his recruitment, Black holds offers from 20+ programs, and he’s now set his first two official visits of the fall to North Carolina and Texas. He discussed those schools and more on his recruitment below:
