The Missouri Valley Conference is one of the top-tier one-bid leagues in the country.

Last year, Belmont controlled the league but lost early in the Missouri Valley tournament. Some familiar faces on the sideline also left the league -- Casey Alexander left Belmont, and after two decades at Northern Iowa, Ben Jacobsen went to Utah State.

The Valley figures to be as competitive as it's been in years, especially at the top.
