1. Four-star guard King Kendrick chooses South Florida

South Florida and new head coach Chris Mack have started its 2027 high school recruiting class with a bang.

The Bulls landed four-star guard King Kendrick on Wednesday.

Kendrick, the 6-foot guard from Combine Academy (NC), had interest from power five schools like Arizona State, Texas A&M and more, but elected to go the mid-major route. He has a chance to impact winning right away at South Florida as a freshman.

“There's not a lot of true point guards in the country right now, and I feel like I'm one of the best,” Kendrick previously told The Field of 68. “I don't have to put the ball in the basket to affect the game. I can on the defensive end and I can also by finding guys.”

Kendrick’s pass-first mentality reflects well on his biggest basketball influence so far in his career: Chris Paul. The former NBA All-Star took Kendrick under his wing this past summer while Kendrick played for Team CP3.

At Peach Jam with Team CP3, Kendrick averaged 14.8 points and an EYBL-best 6.7 assists. He’s also ambidextrous and able to make shots with both hands. He should be a great addition to the South Florida program.

2. Big Ten drops conference slate

Basketball is creeping ever-closer, less than 50 days away, and leagues across the country are starting to drop their league schedules.

The Big Ten is the latest power conference to do so.
