1. Kansas adds one more incoming freshman

Kansas had been searching for some roster depth this spring/summer. It may have got more than just depth on Tuesday.

Kohl Rosario, a top 75 prospect in the class of 2026, announced Tuesday that he’ll reclassify and enroll at Kansas for next season. Rosario's commitment gives Kansas a third top-100 recruit, joining Darryn Peterson, and forward Samis Calderon. (Forward Bryson Tiller could technically be viewed as part of that group even though he enrolled midway through the 2024-25 campaign. He just didn’t play due to an injury.)

Rosario wasn't some panic move. He held offers from Duke, BYU, Florida State, Texas A&M, UNC, and many others, so it's not like Kansas is trying to find some diamond in the rough ranked in the 200s. Rosario was a bit of a recent riser, who was recently ranked No. 46 in the 2026 class, but could've risen even higher had he stayed in high school.

"We feel that what Kohl brings from a perimeter athletic shooting standpoint is something that we've needed to add to this year's roster. He is one of the hardest working youngsters that we've ever recruited and feel the transition to college ball will be more seamless due to this," Bill Self told 247sports.

The shooting is not specific to this year's roster, but it's an issue dating back a couple seasons. Loyola Chicago transfer Jayden Dawson has shot 140-for-381 (36.7%) from deep in three college seasons, but he’s the only proven perimeter shooter on the team. Adding Rosario should be another option, and one that should stick around beyond next season.

The Jayhawks know Peterson will have the ball and he's an elite driving guard with his 6-5, athletic frame. He'll get his head down and drive often and that'll give shooters chances to get clean looks from deep, so adding another driller is very noteworthy.

2. Five mid-major talents the NBA shouldn’t ignore

The Thunder won the NBA Finals with three players on their roster from mid-major schools: Jalen Williams (Santa Clara), AJay Mitchell (UCSB) and Dillon Jones (Weber State). Williams was a lottery pick and essential to the title, while the other two should help down the line.

Which mid-major players in the 2025 NBA Draft could provide a similar impact?
