1. Sean Miller: Darius Acuff best he’s seen

After No. 20 Arkansas beat Texas 105-85 on Wednesday night, Sean Miller stepped to the postgame podium and did something you rarely see from a losing coach.

Instead of breaking down what went wrong, Miller spent nearly two minutes talking about Arkansas freshman point guard Darius Acuff.

Acuff, who finished Wednesday’s game with 28 points and 13 assists, is averaging an SEC-leading 24.8 points and 6.6 assists while shooting 43.3% from deep. He can become the first SEC player since Pete Maravich in 1969-70 to lead the league in both points and assists, and he’s doing things no player has ever done in college hoops.

“Guys like him, they just don’t come into college basketball very often,” Miller said. “I mean, he’s a generational player. He’s really really good. And this No. 1 pick thing, I don’t know why people aren’t talking about him more. I can’t imagine anybody better.”

You don’t hear coaches talk about an opposing player like that too often, and Miller has coached and played against several lottery picks in his time. That tells you all you need to know on how special Acuff truly is.

Acuff and the Razorbacks (22-8, 12-5 in SEC) can showcase themselves once more on Saturday at Missouri before the SEC Tournament begins. Then we’ll see what else Acuff can do.

2. Another big night on the bubble
