Good morning everyone! We’re five days from the start of the season. Let’s get to the news.

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months

That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.

Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.

Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.

1. UConn dominates Purdue in exhibtion

What do you believe more? UConn is awesome, or could Purdue struggle early in 2026? I think I lean toward the former after the Huskies beat the Boilers, 76-53.

UConn’s defense stole the show, holding Purdue to 20-of-61 shooting (32%) and a woeful 2-for-25 clip from 3 (8%). And given the state of Purdue's frontcourt, it has to shoot well and almost couldn't have shot worse.

The scary part? This wasn't even an "A" game from UConn. Braylon Mullins (seven points) returned after missing the Michigan State and Syracuse exhibitions. He didn't necessarily light it up in his 24 minutes.

Silas Demary Jr. scored 10 points, and freshman stud Colben Landrew scored 15. Having a perimeter trio of that caliber will make UConn tough to beat when all are scoring. Plus, the bigs showed up. Na'Jai Hines started and had nine points with six boards, while Oskar Giltay had 12 points and four rebounds.

On the Purdue side, CJ Cox was the only double-digit scorer with 18 points. He's the only constant for the Boilers entering the year, with plenty of questions around the other pieces. Can Gicarri Harris and Omer Mayer make a leap? Can Antoine West and Luke Ertel make an immediate impact?

Well, in this game, those four went 5-for-23 shooting and 0-for-11 from 3. We can belabor the big-man concerns, but this lineup is built on guards, and they have to be better. The Boilermakers will have to figure out a quick fix, as they have Gonzaga on opening night. As for UConn’s defensive outlook?

“It has the makings of a great defensive team,” Dan Hurley said postgame. “I think we have more, better defenders on the perimeter than we had in ’23 or ’24.”

2. Other exhibition results to note

We have more exhibitions to talk about and break down! Let’s get into it.
