Get familiar with these players
Plenty of incoming college freshmen (and a few returning players) stood out at U20 EuroBasket. We highlight the names to know. Plus: Seton Hall lands an impact recruit (for once), how Radford pried a player away from Clemson, Luke Loucks on his plan for Florida State and more.
It seems the College Sports Commission will adjust its approach. According to a report from Ross Dellenger, the CSC will now treat collectives or any “school-associated entity” as any other business when evaluating an NIL deal. This means collectives should be able to apply more/many of their NIL deals. That must be a relief for players and schools.
Let's get to the rest of Tuesday’s college hoops news.

1. College names to know from U20 EuroBasket 2025
The annual FIBA U20 EuroBasket event just wrapped up. If you were locked into Peach Jam results or the British Open, you might’ve missed some of the players who could make an impact in college hoops next season.
Let's take a look at some players.
Omer Mayer - Purdue: It's been a busy summer for Braden Smith's new running mate. Mayer not only played in EuroBasket for Israel, but he also played in the FIBA U19 World Cup. Mayer led Israel to a 5-2 record at EuroBasket, while showcasing his mix of scoring (16.7 ppg) and playmaking ability (5.1 apg). He also shot a dazzling 32-of-85 (37.6%) in 11 games between the U19 and U20. He’ll be a talented playmaker either next to Smith, or potentially when Smith (rarely) sits.
Leo Curtis - Nebraska: Elsewhere in Big Ten country, this 7-footer was a machine for Iceland’s squad. He averaged 14.6 ppg, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, and he also played 31 minutes per contest. That's impressive conditioning for a 7-footer in the summer. In Iceland's final game on Sunday, a loss to Germany, Curtis blocked six shots, while adding 12 points and eight boards. Rienk Mast’s return from an injury means the Huskers’ offense will go through him, but having Curtis as a big man off the bench will be valuable.
Roman Domon - Murray State: France missed a third-straight U20 title, and took third. Leading them was Murray State newcomer Roman Domon, who averaged 12.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 3.3 apg, while earning All-Star honors for the tourney. The 6-9 wing is a mid-major international recruit worth keeping tabs on.
Neoklis Avdalas - Virginia Tech: The player who stood out the most in the U20 EuroBasket hails from Greece. The 6-9 guard was phenomenal all tournament, posting 14 ppg, 7.1 rpg, and eight assists per contest. Everyone is searching for a big point guard, like Egor Demin. That guy this year is Avdalas, who's ready to take the ACC by storm.
Matas Juzenas - Saint Mary's: Lithuania came ever so close to snagging a U20 crown. One of the reasons was the Saint Mary's freshman. Juzenas, like Domon, earned All-Star honors for averaging 11.7 ppg, while drilling seven 3s in the semi-final win over France. An international recruit who can shoot? That sounds like a Randy Bennett guy. Paulius Murauskas is the Gael’s main man, but expect Juzenas to be a starter and impact player.
Martin Kalu - Charleston: Speaking of mid-major future studs, the College of Charleston has one in Kalu. The 6-6 German wing stole the show with his defense, effort, and rebounding. Kalu also averaged 15.3 ppg to go along with his 7.9 rpg. He shot better from deep than he did during his professional season, so expect him to be an energy guy off the bench whose shot doesn’t always fall.
Jan Vide - Loyola Marymount: One of the few players with college experience. Now a junior, Vide led the event with 17.7 ppg, while adding 6.6 rpg and four dimes. He shot just 23% from deep and 57% from the line. He’ll vie to be an All-WCC player.
Alvaro Folguerias - Iowa: While at Robert Morris, Folguerias notched Horizon League POY honors. The Spaniard led all FIBA U20 players with 9.7 rebounds. He also pitched in 11.7 ppg and was 10th with 4.1 assists. The versatile forward struggled shooting-wise, but we know he’s better than 21% from deep. He’ll fit in nicely with Ben McCollum’s system.
Elmeri Abbey - Utah: Abbey posted 13.4 ppg with 4.4 rebounds and seven assists for Finland. While he shot just 32% from the field and 13% from deep, Abbey was impressive with his playmaking and defense.
2. Seton Hall makes rare recruiting splash + more commits
Seton Hall doesn't have a lengthy history of adding big-name recruits. Well, they got one on Tuesday.
