Is Florida the team to beat next season? With Todd Golden downplaying the NBA, and most of its frontcourt back, it sure seems like it. Plus: latest portal commitments, another player returns to Duke, two notable NBA Draft decisions, and much more.

1. A post-portal deadline Top 25
The portal’s closed. It’s almost May. Probably time for a Way Too Early Top 25 courtesy of the Field of 68 brain trust (Jeff Goodman and Rob Dauster discus the rankings here).

If you’d like to tell Rob, Jeff or Sam Lance how dumb they are, you can comment here. Not sure how many of you’ll do that, though. There’s not a lot to quibble with.
Florida’s on a recent streak by returning Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon, plus Boogie Fland. This also projects Reuben Chinyelu as a returner.
Michigan has an elite backcourt (Elliot Cadeau and Trey McKenney), but is waiting on its frontcourt. It reportedly expects sophomore big Morez Johnson to hit the NBA. No word on Aday Mara.
UConn’s in a solid spot despite not having Solo Ball next season, while Duke’s been reloading.
Virginia’s three big returners (Thjis De Ridder, Johan Grunloh and Chance Mallory) make them a capable Top 10 team.
Texas, Miami (Fla.) and Louisville all loaded up via the portal. The above rankings might be a bit aggressive compared to other Top 25s, but this is reflective higher expectations.
UNC might be a smidge high at 16 until they know Henri Veesaar won’t go pro.
Nice to see Marquette on this list. Guess finally hitting the portal was worth it.
2. Oklahoma lands Isaacs + more portal commits
We created this list on Wednesday morning of the best available players remaining in the portal. By Wednesday night, six players were already off the list.
