MT. LAUREL, NJ - The Field of 68 will broadcast its first live game, a matchup between mid-major powerhouses Furman and Stephen F. Austin this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
It will be streamed live on The Field of 68 YouTube channel.
The game, which is the second matchup of the inaugural Greenville Winter Invitational, will be played at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. The Field of 68 is partnering with Furman University and VisitGreenvilleSC.
“This will be our first foray into the broadcast space, and I could not be more excited about it,” said Field of 68 founder Rob Dauster. “Ideally, this will be the first of many, as we transition the Field of 68 from discussing the results of games to a platform where we can celebrate and highlight programs that deserve more national attention.
“At the Field of 68, we celebrate all levels of college basketball, not just the bluebloods. So I can’t think of a better way to start streaming live games than with two of the very best mid-major programs in the sport in Furman and Stephen F. Austin.”
Furman is 6-3 on the season. Its three losses have come by a combined 13 points and is currently 83rd on KenPom. The Paladins, led by fifth-year seniors Mike Bothwell and Jalen Slawson, are favorites to win the SoCon. Stephen F. Austin is 5-4 in their second season as a member of the WAC. Kyle Keller’s program is the league’s reigning regular-season champion.
The Greenville Winter Invitational is a multiple-team basketball showcase taking place at The Well. The one-day, six-team event also features South Carolina vs. East Carolina, which tips off at 2 p.m. ET, and Clemson vs. Richmond, which begins 30 minutes after Furman vs. Stephen F. Austin concludes.
John Fanta, Terrence Oglesby and Dauster, the co-hosts of the DTF Podcast on the Field of 68 network, will be calling the game from Greenville.
