Four-star point guard Tyrone Jamison dives into recruitment, summer with JL3 Elite
The 6-2 guard discusses several of the schools in contact and names five official visit destinations for the summer/fall.

Few players on the EYBL circuit have delivered in clutch moments more this summer than class of 2027 four-star point guard Tyrone Jamison.
At the Kansas City session in May, the 6-1 guard scored 13-straight points and hit the game winner to seal a 20-point comeback victory for JL3 Elite over Team Herro. The next day, he made play after play again down the stretch to outduel five-star point guard NaVorro Bowman Jr. and Team WhyNot.
The KC session wasn’t an outlier. In Atlanta in late April, Jamison scored 16 points in the fourth quarter/overtime to lead JL3 to a 75-68 win over the NY Lightning. And overall across three sessions, the Calvary Baptist Academy (LA) product is top 10 in points per game (20.5) and assists per game (4.9) at the 17u level. He’s also shooting 35% from 3 on 10.6 attempts per game.
“Honestly, I’ve just been trusting in my work,” Jamison said of his summer so far. “And you know, I’m just leading my team and trying to win the Peach Jam title. That's really what I've been focused on, just getting 1% better every day and winning Peach Jam.”
Offensively, Jamison has always been a special player, but JL3 Elite head coach Torrence Botts has seen considerable growth in other areas of his game this summer.
“What’s impressed me most has been his growth on the defensive end,” Botts said.
“While he’s been very effective offensively, I feel like he’s brought that same energy and competitiveness guarding the ball, along with his awareness off the ball defensively. I think that has really elevated his game and helped him become a more complete player.”
Most recently, Jamison competed at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina. There, he participated in drills and scrimmages while learning from former NBA players, including greats like Kyrie Irving.
What did Jamison take away from the experience?
“To be a pro you have to really just work next level,” he said. “It's about the little details.”
On the recruitment front, Jamison has amassed 20+ offers, but he narrowed his list to 10 schools in January: Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Iowa, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Oklahoma State and SMU.
Jamison is currently on an official visit to Iowa. He previously visited Maryland officially and has also taken unofficial visits to Louisville, Arkansas and LSU (before Will Wade's arrival).
