Florida's making moves

On same day the champs have a star declare for the NBA Draft, it also adds one of the top lead guards from the transfer portal. Plus: More draft news, Kansas' portal addition, four international prospects pick programs for 2025-26, and much more.

Good morning! There was a time on Wednesday morning when I wasn’t sure there would be much college hoops news. Remind me to never wonder that again because yesterday was packed with news.

Let's get to it.

1. Florida grabs its point guard for 2025-26

The champs are on the board in the transfer portal less than 10 days after cutting down the nets. Former Princeton point guard Xaivian Lee announced his commitment to Florida on Wednesday via Instagram.

The unanimous All-Ivy selection averaged 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game last season with the Tigers. Lee shot 43.9% from the floor and 36.6% from 3-point range on 161 attempts. He’s spent the past three seasons with Princeton and the last two as its starting point guard.

Lee was ranked the No. 26 overall prospect in the transfer portal by 247Sports, and he chose Florida over Kansas and St. John’s. It’ll be hard to replace Walter Clayton Jr., but Lee will certainly help fill the void.

The point guard will pair well with Denzel Aberdeen in Florida’s backcourt. The Gators are also likely to return frontcourt pieces Thomas Haugh, Micah Handlogten and Reuben Chinyelu, giving one reason to believe the Gators could run it back. Florida will be bringing in two top-40 2025 recruits as well in CJ Ingram and Alex Lloyd.

Todd Golden is only 39 years old, but he’s crushing it in Gainesville.

2. Three college basketball stars enter NBA Draft

The 2025 NBA Draft pool is starting to come together, and it received three more high-caliber names on Wednesday. Duke’s Kon Knueppel, Florida’s Alex Condon and Michigan’s Danny Wolf all officially declared.
