Five-star Malachi Jordan breaks down recruitment, will move AAU teams

For class of 2027 five-star prospect Malachi Jordan, confidence is key. And he’s playing with an exuberance of it so far this summer.
Jordan, the 6-7 wing, has been the leader for the Oakland Soldiers through three Nike EYBL sessions, averaging 18.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals. He's made strides in nearly every area from a year ago. What's been the biggest difference?
“Just being more confident,” Jordan said. “I've always been able to do what I do, move around, pass the ball, shoot the ball. But the confidence wasn't really there and now I'm highly confident in my ability…. I feel like I'm one of the best in this class. And when I'm confident about it, I don't think anybody is up to par with me with my talent -- how I can dribble, how I can move, jump, shoot, pass.”
Jordan’s overall improvement and play this summer also landed him a spot on Team USA for the U18 FIBA AmeriCup. It was the first time Jordan made a final Team USA roster, and while his role was limited, he said the experience was valuable, even with Team USA's 67-65 loss to Canada in the gold medal game.
The wing didn’t play in the championship game and admitted he was a bit frustrated by the fact he wasn’t able to make an impact. However, he said that will only add fuel to his fire.
“I’m moving on and next year my goal is to start,” Jordan said.
As far as his recruitment, Jordan has taken one official visit to Washington. He currently has Tennessee set for Sept. 25 and Alabama set for Oct. 10. He’s also been discussing visits with Kansas, Missouri, Vanderbilt, UConn and USC.
“We're still to figure out where we want to go and the dates,” Jordan said of potential future visits. “I have to wait on my high school schedule to see which ones I can take."
Jordan has also recently been offered by BYU and holds additional offers from Auburn, Indiana, Memphis, Miami, Ohio State and Texas Tech.
