Five-star Brady Pettigrew chats new Blue Blood offers, summer

When your game has been compared to the likes of Bradley Beal in the past, it helps to have him in your corner. That’s a reality for class of 2028 five-star guard Brady Pettigrew.

The 6-4 guard out of Bolingbrook High School (IL) plays his summer AAU hoops for the Bradley Beal Elite Nike EYBL 16u program, which Beal coaches himself.

“It's really good for me to be coached by him because I get to learn from him and just be a sponge,” Pettigrew said. “He's where I want to get to, so having him as a mentor is really big for me.

“He's given me some moves. He's taught me my footwork in the paint, using my body because I'm bigger than most guards we play. But mentally he's always told me that no matter what court I step on, he feels like I'm going to be the best player. No matter who I match up against, he has 100% confidence in me and he's really built that into my mind to kind of be just that alpha and that aggressor." 

Through three sessions this summer, Pettigrew has averaged 23.6 points (fourth in 16u), 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals, helping his squad to a 6-2 record. Pettigrew was also invited to the Team USA training camp for the U17 World Cup in Turkey but had to head back home due to growing pains.
