Five-star big man Paul Osaruyi names three fall visits, talks recruitment timelines
The 6-10 rising senior will take three fall visits and discussed his overall recruitment with The Field of 68.

As a junior at CIA Bella Vista Prep, class of 2027 prospect Paul Osaruyi showed why he’s ranked a five-star.
Osaruyi, the 6-10 big man from Scarborough, Ontario, was key for Bella Vista in its Chipotle Nationals title run. And his 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in the championship game vs. Montverde were huge in Bella Vista’s efforts to lift the trophy.
“It's something we'll remember 10 years down the road,” Osaruyi said.
This summer, though, was a different story for the Canadian center. Playing with the Arizona Unity, Osaruyi still produced — averaging 8.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks — but it didn’t lead to much team success. Unity finished the summer with an 8-13 record and went 0-5 at Peach Jam.
It was quite the turnaround in a short span of time for the five-star, so what did Osaruyi learn?
“Just what I could do better at and get better at in terms of my game, what I want to do in the future,” he said. “It's just really about me learning different spaces around the floor, getting used to being in certain situations and certain plays that I'm not really used to.”
Even with some ups and down, Osaruyi believes he’s improved in several areas this summer. He’ll look to take what he’s learned into various camps to end the summer, like the Nike Skills Academy and Mamba League, before he heads to Bella Vista.
“I've been working on my shooting a lot throughout the summer,” Osaruyi said. “But other than that, me being a great defender, being physical, I was just really trying to do whatever to win really, win for the team."
Osaruyi further described himself as a versatile forward who can play 3-5 and guard 1-5. The five-star can simply dominate games with his defense and athleticism when he’s playing with a high motor.
The big man’s play has earned him the attention of several of college basketball’s top programs, but Osaruyi said he’s soon to make some recruitment decisions. He broke down some of his top schools to The Field of 68 below, including three visits he’ll be taking this fall.
