Five-star 2028 point guard Michai White discusses recruitment, summer
The 6-0 rising junior chats his summer so far with City Rocks and the schools to reach out for June 15.

Class of 2028 point guard Michai White plays with so much poise you wouldn’t know he’s competing up an age group on the Nike EYBL circuit.
White, the 6-0 guard of out Newark (NJ), has been the engine that makes the City Rocks program go so far this summer. He’s currently averaging 21.2 points (fifth in 17u) and 4.8 assists (ninth) and has been efficient.
One of his best moments came against No. 1 ranked 2027 point guard Beckham Black and AB Elite. In the matchup, White went toe-to-toe with Black and scored 15 straight points in overtime to win the game for City Rocks.
“I honestly didn’t even know,” White said of the outburst. “I was just playing to win really.”
“I want to prove I’m one of the best players and point guards in the country,” he later added. “I come out and compete my hardest against anybody, anytime, any day of the week.”
White’s AAU coach at City Rocks, Carmen Maciariello, said the guard has done a great job with his development this summer.
“He’s a tough guard,” Maciariello said. “He can beat you in a variety of ways. He’s a three-level scoring point guard with tremendous court sense and passing ability. He reads the floor masterfully and is a fierce competitor.”
Over the past few days, White has been very busy, from participating in Team USA U17 training camp, to hearing from college coaches with the June 15 contact period open for 2028 prospects.
“It’s been crazy,” White said. “It’s been very very hectic.”
