Five-star 2027 prospect Moussa Kamissoko discusses recruitment, PSA summer

When it comes to versatile wings with positional size, it doesn't get much better than class of 2027 prospect Moussa Kamissoko.

The 6-foot-8 wing from Long Island Lutheran (NY) does a little bit of everything. At Peach Jam, Kamissoko stuffed the stat sheet for the PSA Cardinals, averaging 16.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals while showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Kamissoko also took noticeable strides as a playmaker this summer, looking comfortable handling the ball in transition after grabbing defensive rebounds. And on the other end, he has the versatility to guard 1-4.

“What impressed me the most about Moussa’s summer was the trust and faith he had in his teammates on the court and the bond that he’s shared with them off the court, which is bigger than basketball,” PSA 17u head coach Donovan Jones said. “His willingness to share the ball and the enthusiasm and passion he brought to games stood out, and it’s why his teammates enjoy playing with him.”

Kamissoko’s development earned him an invitation to the NBPA Top 100 Camp and a spot to tryout for Team USA's U18 AmeriCup squad.

“Sadly I got cut [from USA], but everything's a lesson,” Kamissoko said. "I learned just to communicate more and do the little things to stand out."

So what's next?

“Just locking in more to the weight room and filling out my frame more,” he said. “And continuing to be more mobile, working on my flexibility and mobility. Just staying in the gym, working out.”

Because of Kamissoko’s standout play, he’s caught the attention of several of the nation’s top programs. The five-star has an offer list including Alabama, BYU, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Providence, Syracuse, UConn, Villanova and Virginia, as well as interest from other programs.
