Five-star 2027 prospect Cayden Daughtry updates recruitment amid generational Peach Jam run

Class of 2027 five-star prospect Cayden Daughtry said it best: him being the best player in the country is a conversation some people don’t want to have.

But with his production this summer, the point guard is making a strong case and continues to show why he should be No. 1. On Thursday, he proved it even more, delivering a Peach Jam performance for the ages.

Against the NY Rens, Daughtry poured in a whopping 43 points, including a game-tying dunk to send the game to double-overtime and a game-tying three to send it to triple-overtime. Even though his Florida Rebels lost by one, Daughtry’s performance will go down as one of the best in Peach Jam history, and the 43 points is a Peach Jam record.

Through three games, Daughtry is now leading 17u Peach Jam in points per game (36.7), assists per game (6.7) and steals per game (4.3). He’s been the EYBL’s leading scorer all summer and is showing no signs of slowing down.

“I came in just wanting to win Peach and that's what happens when you come in wanting to win everything, win everything moving, kill anything moving,” Daughtry said. “I just came in and did what I had to do, and now I'm a few games away from winning Peach."

So far in his recruitment process, Daughtry has heard from and been offered by several programs across the country, but Iowa, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Providence and Tennessee have made serious inroads.
