1. Duke snags some Saar-power

Duke’s spent the last month trying to figure out who’ll be on the wing.

It had landed former Washington State wing Cedric Coward, but his NBA Draft stock has only gone up in that time. So Duke coach Jon Scheyer went another route in international prospect Dame Sarr, who committed on Thursday.

"Duke was my dream school," Sarr told ESPN. "I watched a lot of NCAA games this season, especially Duke. I played with Jabari Parker this season, who went to Duke. When I had the chance to go there, I had to take it."

Sarr is a consensus top-20 incoming freshman, known for his athleticism and versatility. The 6-7 forward may not be the same perimeter threat as Coward, but he can get to the rim and should be a standout defender after playing professionally with FC Barcelona.

That also means Coward won’t attend Duke. If he were to somehow withdraw from the NBA Draft, he could head elsewhere via the transfer portal. And one of Sarr’s suitors would certainly take him.

Especially after another in-demand wing committed on Thursday.

2. Will Wade, N.C. State land biggest commit yet

The competition for Darrion Williams was seen as a two-program race between N.C. State and Kansas. Williams will trade the Big 12 for the ACC.
