The portal never sleeps. Even in December.

Let's get to Tuesday’s news.

1. Duke passes midweek test vs. Hofstra

Finals week is a trap week. Players are studying, campus feels different, and teams have played the brunt of their non-conference schedule.

So when No. 21 Duke hosted Hofstra on Tuesday night, it seemed like there was the potential for an upset. For a half, that certainly was the case. For a half.

The Pride (6-4) led by five points late in the first half thanks to some hot shooting, but behind Jeremy Roach (19 points) and big man Kyle Filipowski, the Blue Devils (7-3) turned it on and won 89-68.

The sophomore posted perhaps the best game of his career, scoring 28 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and tossing eight assists. That last stat was key, especially as Duke continues to adjust to life without point guard Tyrese Proctor.
