Class of 2027 wing Jayon Connor shines at Peach Jam, updates recruitment
The likes of Houston and Illinois had offered Connor before Peach Jam, and after some impressive showings, more schools are entering the picture.

There may not be a player who’s helped himself more recently than class of 2027 prospect Jayon Connor.
Connor, the 6-7 wing, has been a centerpiece for Team CP3 17u all summer long after leading Forsyth Country Day School to a 4A state title in North Carolina during his high school season. Currently, the four-star is ranked outside the top-100 on both On3 and 247Sports.
However, his production speaks for itself, and Connor should be due for a huge rise across recruiting services.
Across 15 regular season EYBL games, Connor was second on Team CP3 in scoring at 14.3 points per game, and he also led the team with 8.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.5 blocks.
“I've just been working super hard,” Connor said. “I think that the work you put in, it's eventually going to show. That's all I've been doing. I live in the gym. So I'm just going out there and showing it on the court."
Connor stepped his game up even more on the biggest stage at Peach Jam, posting 15.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. The wing also helped Team CP3 to a 17-6 overall record this summer and berth in the Peach Jam quarterfinals, where CP3 fell to the eventual champion Florida Rebels, 82-79.
Connor’s best game at Peach? How about 24 points with a whopping 15 rebounds vs. JL3 Elite, one of the toughest, hard-nosed teams on the circuit. Pretty much all of Connor’s buckets came in the paint. He simply couldn’t be stopped driving downhill.
“I just play super hard,” Connor said of his game. “I go out there and make the winning plays. I do the little things most people don't do. I do all of them. I go rebound. I play hard. I do everything. I just think that I'm super competitive. I don't want to lose. So if it can affect us winning, I just got to make the play. I got to do it."
Due to his play, Connor’s recruitment has really started to heat up. Before Peach Jam, the wing held offers from Charlotte, Houston, Illinois, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and a few other mid-majors. He’s added Tennessee, UConn, USC, Virginia Tech and West Virginia since his showings in North Augusta.
