Bold Bayou move?

LSU reportedly trying to sign players who's been a pro for six years. Plus: Clemson makes another smart roster move, Arizona and Michigan plan foreign trips, Sac State retains its scoring star, and much more.

Good morning! If Congress is going to fix college athletics, it won’t be this week. The SCORE Act won’t be brought to the House floor this week because of significant opposition.

Let’s get to the rest of Monday’s news.

1. LSU reportedly trying to bring in 25-year old pro

Here’s a post that caused waves in college hoops circles on Monday.

Yes, Yam Madar is 25-years-old and will turn 26 in December. He was a second-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft who’s played for three years in NBA’s Summer League, and has played professionally in Europe for the last six years.

And, as you can see from the community note, he isn’t officially headed to LSU yet. If the NCAA did clear him to play, it’d likely be for one season and likely be tied to his years of military service.

Not that any of that would assuage irate fans. The idea of a 26-year-old playing his first season in college hoops? That’s something out of a bad 90s sports movie. Will Wade only has three transfers committed to the 2026-7 roster, but this would be stretching things to an extreme limit.

Sorry, make that four transfers. The Tigers reportedly got a commitment from UTSA guard Austin Nunez, who averaged nearly 10 points a game last season, but did it on 30.4% shooting from the field. No wonder Wade’s courting developed players.

2. Another solid Clemson addition + more moves

Don’t be surprised when Clemson finishes in the top five of the ACC for the fifth-straight year next season.
