1. Big Ten offseason takeaways

It's Tuesday's Daily, which means it's time for another installment of our offseason conference preview series. This week, Jeff Goodman, Rob Dauster, Brian Butch and Mike LaTulip broke down the Big Ten.

The full show is worth a watch, but below are a few of the biggest takeaways.

• All four panelists had different answers when it came the off-season winner. The one that really caught my eye was Butch going with Indiana. “They went out, recruited and got the guys they needed to get. Now, they’ve got a frontline and they didn’t have that last year. In the Big Ten, you need a frontline, you need someone that’s going to dominate

• On the loser front, it was an easy one for Goodman. He went with Washington for one reason — money. “To me, the biggest loser is Washington because they have no money,” Goodman said. “(Danny) Sprinkle has no money. I think they have five million. They went from a lot of money a year ago to now having nothing. And now their roster kind of looks like one that’s five or six million.”

• LaTulip had an interesting thought on Iowa in the post-Bennett Stirtz era. “They won’t play that way (playing super slow), they can’t.” He also added: “What actually works in their favor is this Iowa team turned teams over more than most teams in the Big Ten last year. You can still keep that because Ty’Reek Coleman is a heck of a point of attack defender and now you can play faster to give yourself more margin for error.”

• The Big Ten preseason POY is obvious. It’s Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears Jr. But what if it’s not? A few names thrown out were Illinois’s David Mirkovic, USC’s Rodney Rice, Nebraska’s Pryce Sandfort and UCLA’s Nikola Kusturica.

2. Cardinals cruise in foreign tour opener

Nothing like a near 50-point win to get the summer rolling.

Louisville traveled to the Bahamas to play the Bahamas Select and pulled out a dominant 101-52 win. It wasn't the toughest competition, but a win is a win, and Pat Kelsey was able to work on rotations and see which combinations work.
