Good morning! Hope everyone had a merry National coaches day. Let’s get to to the news.

Silver Miners Have Outrun Silver Since 2020

Since March 2020, silver has returned about 402%. The silver miners returned 445%.

That gap is the leverage our research team focuses on. When silver rises, a producer's net asset value can rise much faster, and share prices tend to follow. It works in both directions, and a mine is only as good as the company running it.

The Ultimate Silver Playbook shows how the team separates the miners worth owning from the rest, and which silver stocks are on its watchlist now. It's free.

1. Notables from ACC Day 1

We kicked off our two-day ACC media day coverage with SMU, Stanford, California, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Louisville and commissioner Jim Phillips all taking the mic.

The full three-hour stream is above, but here’s some of the most notable things you may have missed:

  • SMU sophomore big man Jaden Toombs is due for a breakout. He been SMU’s vocal leader and has really improved his body. “He needs to be a go-to guy offensively and a better rim protector and rebounder defensively," Andy Enfield said. “He looks like a pro right now.” International forward Jakub Szumert has also drawn some buzz.

  • Last year, Stanford had an electric freshman point guard in Ebuka Okorie. They’ll have another in 26-27: Julius Price, who’s an elite defender: “He’s just so level headed, has emotional maturity. I feel good about [Christian] Bliss and Price playing with each other. Christian probably makes more plays for others, Julius gets [to the basket] with quickness.”

  • California returns nine players, including Lee Dort, who’s set for a big jump. Per Mark Madsen, he had a great summer, playing for the Haitian national team. It’s allowed his game to really take a leap. Dort averaged 8.1 ppg and 7.8 rpg last year.

  • Luke Murray finally took a P5 head coaching job and will bring UConn’s offense to Boston College. Why did he choose BC to start his head coaching career?: “It had everything I was looking for with the exception of that recent basketball success.” Campus, academics, chance to be a HC in the ACC, etc. “These things are hard to come by.”

  • Jackson Fields spent two years at Troy under Scott Cross before heading to West Virginia and reuniting with him at Georgia Tech. He has a very contagious, upbeat personality: “It broke my heart when he left,” Cross said. “I knew once I saw his name in the transfer portal we wanted him. He’s the anchor of our defense and one of the best communicators I’ve been around.”

  • Pat Kelsey has a fifth-year in limbo in Seth Trimble. How does Kelsey go about it?: “I'm coaching every day like he's going to be eligible... It's all going to play out.”

  • What does commish Jim Phillips think of the ongoing eligibility lawsuits?: “I love our student-athletes, and we always should try to do what's right for them. But we've gotten so much compression in the system. It has to find its way out of it. It's hurting the high school student-athletes."

2. What we learned from Summit League media day

We held another media day today on Tuesday, this time focusing on the Summit League. The league has had four different NCAA Tournament representatives in the last four seasons, so there’s been parity.

The league also decreased to an eight team league, as Denver moved on to the WCC. There was one coaching change with Mark Turgeon taking over the Kansas City program.

If you didn’t catch the show, we advise you to click the link above. We also wrote a full Summit League preview with rotations, best players, strengths/weaknesses, and more. Below are some highlights from media day:
