Two big SEC additions

Arkansas, Kentucky both picked up impact players Tuesday from the transfer portal, while the NBA Draft's early entrant list was finalized. Kind of. We break it all down.

Last day for new additions to the transfer portal. Promise.

Let's get to Tuesday’s news.

1. Arkansas headed for a big portal week

John Calipari’s starting to hit his stride in his new home. After securing a trio of freshmen recruits, Arkansas added consensus top-10 transfer Jonas Aidoo on Monday. And another one is coming to Fayetteville.

Davis will be the go-to player on Arkansas's roster. The Co-AAC POY averaged 18.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, and 2.9 apg in 34 games this season and was FAU’s most consistent player all season.

Davis's toughness and physicality should translate to the SEC. The 6-4, 203-pound guard loves getting downhill and attacking, and is nearly unstoppable once he gets near the hoop. He shot 48% from the field and 41% from 3. He’s an outstanding player, who already appeared on the biggest stage as one of the focal point of FAU’s 2023 Final Four run.

That gives the Razorbacks six players on the roster

  • Jonas Aidoo (11 ppg, 7 rpg at Tennessee)

  • Zvonimir Ivisic (5.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg at Kentucky)

  • Billy Richmond (5-star recruit)

  • Boogie Fland (5-star recruit)

  • Karter Knox (5-star recruit)

That’s two of the best portal players and a trio of five-star recruits. It’ll be interesting to see if Arkansas adds more elite talent or fills the remaining roster spots with pieces that can support the talent in place.

2. Kentucky adds more size + other portal moves

Don’t worry, Kentucky fans. Your ex-coach is making waves, but your new coach is doing just fine.
