All quiet on the portal front
Are things slowing down now that April's over? Maybe. Kentucky, Oregon and NC State had the biggest portal moves on Wednesday, while Iowa State locked up TJ Otzelberger for the long haul, and much more.
Good morning! It’s almost May. Time to catch up on sleep.

For many coaching families, the news of a "great opportunity" isn’t met with a high-five. It’s met with a deep, weary sigh of anxiety.
In over 70% of coaching moves, the spouse becomes the unpaid project manager for the entire relocation.

1. A quiet day for the transfer portal
Wednesday may have been the slowest day of the offseason to date. Only four power conference schools landed a prospect, and all-in-all it was a quiet day across the sport in terms of transfer movement.
Two commitments stood out with Kentucky signing Washington State transfer guard Jerone Morton and Oregon landing Boston College transfer guard Fred Payne. We’ll also get to NC State’s pickup of Darius Adams.
Morton, the 6-4 guard, will bring some veteran experience to Kentucky’s backcourt. He’s started over 50 games in his college career and averaged 7.8 points and 2.6 assists last season at Washington State. Morton will likely slide into a bench role behind prized portal additions Zoom Diallo and Alex Wilkins.
Moving onto Oregon, the Ducks have landed its seventh transfer of the offseason with the addition of Payne (15.8 ppg last season). Their roster is starting to come together:
Guards: Fred Payne, Jasper Johnson, Jerry Easter, Seven Spurlock
Wings: Tyrone Riley IV, Andrew Meadow, Pharaoh Compton
Frontcourt: Sean Stewart, Taylor Bol Bowen, Tajh Ariza, Kendre Harrison

2. Assessing NC State’s roster build thus far
New NC State coach Justin Gainey is one month into his tenure as of this morning, and he probably hasn’t had much of a chance to sleep trying to fill out a roster.
