1. What we learned from ACC offseason special

Conference preview season has officially arrived at The Field of 68. Yesterday, Rob Dauster, Jeff Goodman, Randolph Childress, and Terrence Oglesby began the series by discussing the ACC title favorites, burning questions, top transfer adds, and MORE!

You’ll need to watch the whole hour-long special, but here’s a quick teaser:

  • Oglesby couldn't pick just one ACC offseason winner; he picked two from last year's bottom half of the league. He thinks Boston College "outkicked their coverage" with Luke Murray, the former UConn assistant who took over the head coaching gig in Chestnut Hill. The other is Pittsburgh, saying, "If they play together the right way, they could turn around and be a tournament team. I think that team has rebounded that well."

  • Goodman tabbed the programs that Childress (Wake Forest) and Oglesby (Clemson) played for as the biggest losers. As for Wake, Goodman proclaimed that "They might have the least money of any power five in the country.” Clemson also doesn't have the money it should have for what Brad Brownell has accomplished.

  • I found the ACC POY chat interesting. The panel discussed Thijs De Ridder and John Blackwell as the top two options, but Oglesby chimed in with Duke freshman Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje as a dark horse for the award. Another name mentioned by Childress was Louisville guard Jackson Shelstad, pointing to lead guards thriving in Pat Kelsey's offense.

  • At the end of the show, Goodman went through tiers of teams' NIL money by polling coaches in the league. It was a terrific insight.

2. Hearing from TJ Otzelberger, Brad Underwood

We’re finally starting to hear from coaches in actual media sessions this offseason, and on Tuesday, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood and Iowa State head coach TJ Otzelberger both chatted with the media.

Let's start with some notes from Otzelberger's press session.
